When you are on a dive holiday, the only thing you want is to enjoy your dives at the maximum. You want to stay underwater for longer to discover the amazing sceneries and aquatic life the Red Sea has to offer. You want to have so many dives as possible in order to explore as many dive sites as possible and of course you want to feel less tired after each dive. Well the PADI Enriched Air Specialty Course (Nitrox) is designed to allow you to stay longer underwater and return to the water sooner on repetitive dives in a safe way.

In order to take the PADI Enriched Air Diver Specialty Course (Nitrox), you must first already be a certified PADI Open Water Diver, and you must be at least 12 years old.

This is a one day course that can easily be integrated in your holiday.

The nitrogen in normal air limits your bottom time, the number of dives that can be done in a day or will require a longer surface interval between dives. Nitrogen is also the cause of decompression sickness. During this course you will learn to use enriched air, also called nitrox, that has more oxygen in it.

The PADI Enriched Air Specialty Course (Nitrox) will teach you how to properly select the best mix for your dive through some simple calculations. You will learn how to use Enriched Air, equivalent air depth and oxygen exposure tables to plan you dives. Finally you will also learn how to label your tank, calibrate and use an oxygen analyzer to verify your mix. In addition to this, your instructor will teach you how to set your dive computer to the proper mix and when you are ready how to plan your dives.

During the theoretical part summarized you will simply be explained why diving with air that has higher oxygen and lower nitrogen gives you more bottom time, and less decompression time.

During the practical session you will discuss how to manage oxygen exposure, practice analyzing oxygen content in your tank and learn to set and use your dive computer for diving with Enriched Air (Nitrox).
